It is only 12 am but it feels oh so much later.

Today has been a long day, while strangely still being rather easy. (As I have noticed my life, in general, is extremely easy compared to most, so why do I have such internal turmoil?)

Anyway, today I rose early-ish, at around 8 am to shower and get dressed before the girls woke up and before Hailey and Hunter arrived around 10. After Hailey and Hunter left, the girls and I ran some errands. It was roughly 3 when we got home. Now, Alexis normally naps around noon but due to all the excitement she only took a 5 minute one. I was so sure she would fall asleep on the ride home, but she didn't. Haylie rarely takes naps anymore so it was no surprise that she was still awake.

Brandon came home around 6 and left shortly after to hang out with some friends and not long after he left both girls fell asleep. At 6:30.

If you are a mother, you know what that means.

It means your kids will wake up in the middle of the night like it's 9 in the morning.

Sure enough at 11 pm Alexis wakes up. But after three short feedings and some play time she is now asleep again. (Might I add that on the 19th she will be 10 months old and will have successfully breastfed longer than Haylie. I know we'll make it past her birthday and now I am thinking we'll set a new goal for 18 months. When we reach that, who knows. Maybe we'll keep going. I am giving serious thought to child-led weening.)

So, here I am unable to sleep, but NEEDING it like you wouldn't believe. I just know as soon as I lay down one or both of the girls will wake up.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.
